The assault resulted in the temporary shutdown of the Central Terminal Area tunnel and the Terminal 3 parking area.

An additional two individuals are now in custody in connection with a robbery at Heathrow Airport in which 21 people were injured by a substance believed to be an irritant spray, according to law enforcement.

A 24-year-old man, was taken into custody in the Lambeth area for suspected robbery and assault and a 23-year-old woman was arrested for suspected conspiracy to commit robbery. They both remain in custody, the force said.

These detentions follow a probe into an attack at the multi-storey car park at Terminal 3 on Sunday. Prior to the attack, two women were robbed of their luggage upon exiting a car park lift.

A three-year-old girl was among the those hurt in the event. A total of five individuals were taken to the hospital for treatment and were later discharged.

Police arrested a 31-year-old man for suspected robbery and assault close to the scene. He has since been released under investigation as the investigation proceeds.

Police were called at approximately 8:10 in the morning GMT following reports of a number of people hurt by an irritating chemical thought to be an irritant spray.

The attack - which police said was isolated and not being treated as an act of terror - resulted in train delays and the partial closure of the Central Terminal Area tunnel and the Terminal 3 car park briefly.
